GRAYSON COUNTY, TX -- A Grayson County man was arrested Wednesday for cultivating marijuana. According the Grayson County Sheriff's Office, 47-year-old Jay Newton Cecil of Sadler was arrested for having at least four pounds of marijuana on his property.

Deputies began investigating after an anonymous tip led them to a home. Investigators say they discovered a marijuana plant growing in plain sight. After obtaining a search warrant, deputies found several vacuum sealed bags containing pot, and stalks of marijuana hung up to dry. Several loaded guns were also found at the home.

Authorities say Cecil claims he didn't grow the marijuana to sell it.

"He told us it was for his own use, but that is a lot of narcotics for personal use," Lt. David Hawley of the Grayson County Sheriff's Office said.

Cecil remains in the Grayson County jail.
