MADILL -- About 300 people from 19 Southern Oklahoma counties met in Madill today for the "Oklahoma Home and Community Education" district meeting.
They attended workshops on topics from health and finance to scrap booking and campfire cooking.
The group's mission is to maintain high standards in the home and community through research and education.
Marshall County president Gayle Buck says the county is pleased with the turnout.
"We were looking for 350. They say if you get two-thirds of what you invited you're doing good, so we're doing good today."
Marshall County prepared for this event for more than a year.
