BONHAM -- A historical Bonham building closed after part of the roof caved in. Bonham Police say just before six Saturday night, the center portion of the old auditorium roof collapsed near the stage.
Bonham ISD regularly uses the seventy-year-old facility, and the building is currently undergoing renovations. No one was in the building when the roof collapsed. School officials turned off the gas and electricity in the building.
"I think they have theater practice during the week, just awards assemblies and things for the kids. We're just lucky no one was inside at the time it occurred," said Sgt. Josh Walker with the Bonham police department.
No word yet on how much it will cost to repair the damages.
