4-30-04 - (McALESTER-AP) -- The prosecution rested its case today in the trial of Oklahoma City bombing conspirator Terry Nichols. The case spanned 29 days of testimony from 151 witnesses.
Prosecutors presented evidence they say links Nichols to the
bombing of the Oklahoma City federal building. The bombing is the
worst act of domestic terrorism in U-S history. A total of 168
The final state witnesses were doctors who performed autopsies
on victims. They testified about how some of the victims of the
bombing died, including decapitation and traumatic injuries such as
severed limbs and skull fractures.
The defense case begins Thursday. Nichols could face the death
penalty if convicted.
