Elderly Man Beaten to Death in Ada

05-01-04- An Ada family made a gruesome discovery Friday afternoon when they went in to the home of 70-year-old Agustin Padilla and found the man dead. Authorities believe the man had been dead at last 24 hours before his body was found.

Padilla lived in a home in the 800 block of 14th Street and neighbors say the murder is unusual in their neighborhood.

Saturday, Ada police and OSBI investigators said robbery might have been a motive in the murder, since items were missing from the home, though they would not elaborate.

There is still no word from investigators about a murder weapon. The OSBI began assisting Ada police in the murder investigation Friday night. Authorities hope to know an exact cause of death when the medical examiner's report comes back later this month.

Investigators are still looking for a suspect.
