Students at S & S Elementary in Southmayd got a special treat on Friday.

Their principal, Terry Martin, agreed to spend the night and day on the school’s roof after students raised over $400 during a fundraiser event.

The money will go to Ms. Thom's reading room, a special room in the school library dedicated to a teacher who passed away last year.

Mr. Martin was allowed to take a tent, flashlight, water, food, and of course a cell phone.

“I made the deal with them, made them put the stipulations as far as what was on that paper to bring up."

The students and faculty got a kick out of the event.

Martin says he didn't mind. It was for a good cause.
