Ardmore, OK--Louis Burruss and her husband are part of the huge group that attended the Thanksgiving , courtesy of the Elks Lodge in Ardmore. She and others are glad that this group of volunteers is giving Oklahomans a chance to enjoy the holiday.
"it's a great deal and there are a lot of people that depend on this to have somewhere to go that do not have families." she says.
Volunteers spent most of the night and all of this morning cooking and preparing the holiday buffet for anyone who walked though the door.
Many volunteers that chipped in last year are on hand to help again this year.
And there were several people that were unable to make it to the lodge for a holiday meal, so the meal came to them.
Over one hundred thanksgiving meals were delivered today to residents all over Ardmore.
Joann says it was community effort that made it all possible.
The two things volunteers say they hope to see every Thanksgiving are smiles...and empty plates.
