5-10-04 - A man faces a charge of murder for the hit-and-run accident that killed his ex-girlfriend in early April. Denison police charged Roy Lee Archer, 46, on Monday with murder, intoxicated manslaughter, and failure to stop and render aid.

Police say he was driving down East Shepherd on April 3rd when he ran down Eve Lyn Vanaman, 37, who was pushing a lawnmower in the 500 block. Witnesses say Vanaman initially stopped and then sped away. He would surrender the next day.

But since then police have built a murder case – alleging that Archer meant to run over the woman.
