Threatening Skies But Storms Hold Off

(Undated-AP) -- It's been a rainy and rough weather day in parts of Texas, but there are no reports of serious injuries. Southeastern Oklahoma can expect showers and thunderstorms. The eastern half of the state will have a slight chance of rain.

Here's a look at the affects in Texas:
A special water-rescue team was dispatched today to Hearne, about 50 miles southeast of Waco, to make help people who were
stranded during the flooding. A school bus was among the vehicles stranded in the high water. Classes were canceled today at Hearne High School after more than two dozen classrooms were flooded.

Authorities in Robertson County had reports of 60 to 100 flooded
homes, plus several high-water rescues and cars washed off roads.
Officials say the area received up to 12 inches of rain during a
four-to-five hour period.

Also, the Department of Public Safety reports an earthen dam --
on a small, private lake -- has given way east of Hearne, near FM
2549.
