COAL COUNTY, OK -- One Tupelo Teen boy was shot Monday by another teen. Not many details are being released since the incident involves two juveniles, but here's what we know.

Coal County Sheriff's Deputies says the shooting happened around 5 Monday evening. They say five juveniles ranging in age from 15 to 17 were outside one of their homes on a county road on the SE side of Tupelo.

The 17-year-old suspect reportedly came outside of the residence carrying a .410 shotgun and a .22 rifle. He then laid the shotgun on the ground and fired the .22 into the air, then pointed the gun at the victim and fired the .22 at the ground.

The bullet ricocheted off the ground and hit the victim in the chest. The victim was transported to Valley View Regional Hospital. The suspect was arrested and taken to the Coal County Jail, then transported to the Bryan County Juvenile Detention Center.

The reason for the shooting is still unknown, and more charges are pending for the other juveniles.
