5-20-04 - Three Denison companies are expanding their operations and creating more than 130 new jobs. The Denison Development Alliance announced the deal today, known for months as Project Orange.

The major piece of that project involves a $7 million expansion at Black and Decker’s Kwikset facility. More than 400 people work inside the plant now but within the next year that number will grow by 100. In exchange, the DDA will provide a $220,000 investment package, a new water line, and ten years of tax-free business. The new employees will produce components for hardware.

Denison Glass is also adding 20 new positions while Texoma Insulation will add eight to their work force.

All three of those companies have been in Denison for over 10 years. Kwikset will start hiring in the next few weeks.
