BONHAM, TX -- The city of Bonham about to begin some water improvement projects.

The Texas Water Development Board recently approved a 2.2 million dollar grant to the city to finance wastewater system improvements.

These include:
The installation of about 2.4 miles of gravity interceptors
40 new concrete manholes
and repairs to one lift station.

The Water Development Board says the improvements will cut down on the city's excessive water inflow problems and alleviate sewer system overloads.

According to the board, construction could begin as soon as February 2010.
