ARDMORE, Okla. -- As summer gets off to a splash, a new staple in Ardmore is temporarily out of commission.

The Ardmore Parks and Recreation Department had to close the Splash Pad in Central Park so crews could lay more concrete.

Kids were using it so much the ground became saturated.

Director Kevin Boatright says the Splash Pad should be back in business next week.

These water parks are a wonderful idea and my grandchildren and I have already spent many hours at the one in sherman, texas a picnic lunch and many towels and we have a wonderful day of memories. Thank you cities for this addition.
