The Sand Bass Festival has been drawing big crowds to Madill all week, and you've got one more day to get out there and enjoy it.

One of the big events this evening, the Terrapin, or turtle, races.

Kids take pride in decorating their turtles and cheering them on.
All in all, 75 of the little guys raced, and it's one of the family-friendly events at the festival that all ages can enjoy.

"I used to race them when I was a kid...had a void when we didnt have a sandbass...started back up a few years ago its something the kids can do," said Byron Self, who's been hosting the races for years.

The turtle races continue Saturday with a car and truck show, kid fishing tournament and carnival rides.

The festival wraps up with a performance by Buddy Jewel Saturday night at 8:30 pm.

Admission to the festival is free for the public.
