Denison Murder Unsolved Since 1988

5-26-04 - A Grayson County murder has haunted law enforcement for 16 years, but investigators still have hope that someone can help them find justice for Theresa Guidubaldi. The 23-year-old vanished in the summer of 1988 and part of her remains were discovered a few months later.

The mother of a 3-year-old boy was last heard from the night of June 14, 1988, when she called her mother from a pay phone. The Denison woman was reported missing two days later when she failed to show up for work.

Authorities immediately suspected foul play, but clues were hard to come by. Then, a few days after her death, a Denison fisherman found Theresa's purse on the bank of the Red River - just below the bridge. Later, some of her clothes were found near the river and then a pair of hunters made the final discovery. The found human bones near Choctaw Creek – bones that tests concluded were Theresa’s.

But vital clues were missing. A lack of forensic evidence and finding only part of her remains prevented authorities from even determining her cause of death. Police have had a single suspect all along, an ex-boyfriend of Theresa's, but since there was no physical evidence and no confession, there's also been no arrest.

If you have any information about the murder, call the Grayson County Sheriff's Office at 903-893-4388.
