05-27-04 - A Denison man is in the hospital after he drove off the Denison Dam early Thursday morning. Roger King was flown by Lifestar to Parkland Hospital in Dallas in serious condition.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says King lost control of his SUV while driving southbound on State Highway 91 between midnight and 1:00am. He was not discovered until just after 4:00am by another passing motorist.

According to the OHP, King first hit the west guard rail, overcorrected and went over the east side of the dam. His vehicle rolled down a steep hill and landed 400 feet away. King was not wearing his seatbelt and was thrown 40 feet from the vehicle.
