Crosses Honor Fallen Soldiers

5-28-04 A new generation of soldiers being honored in Cooke County this Memorial Holiday. It’s a powerful sight seen by those driving Highway 82 in Lindsay, Texas. 924 white crosses put up by the Cooke County Knights of Columbus, what they call a reminder for people to pray for our lost and fighting troops – those killed in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Joe Schmitz is a veteran of the Persian Gulf War. He put up four more crosses just today for four new soldiers killed in action. The crosses will be up for another week, until the Monday after Memorial Day Weekend.
