Apartments Evacuated, Storm Damage

5-30-04- High winds, heavy rain, and nickel-sized hail forced some folks in Paris to be evacuated from ther homes Sunday. Police say damage to the roof of the One Oak Place apartments forced management to evacuate about 50 people from the complex.

Storms swept through Lamar County around 6 p.m. Sunday. Paris police say the apartments in the 600 block of Graham street were evacuated as a precaution. The damage is fairly extensive and officials are afraid the roof could collapse,

A makeshift shelter has been set up at the First Methodist Church in Paris where about 50 people will stay for the night.
