Storms Batter Denison Business

06-02-04 - When Tuesday night’s storms rolled through Texoma, the high winds ripped the roof off a local furniture store. But it's the second time the roof has been damaged in less than a week.

Last Wednesday rain filled the Hubbard Furniture showroom after high winds ripped the roof off the three story downtown Denison building. That portion of the roof was repaired by the time last night's storms came through and withstood the wind. However, the roof on the building next door did not. That building has the used furniture showroom inside.

Roofing crews arrived at the store when the storm had passed and worked on putting a temporary patch on the roof. They finished around 3am Wednesday morning. There was $40,000 to $60,000 dollars in damage done.
