6-03-04 - Power has been restored after heavy thunderstorms knocked out power to a few thousand homes in southern Oklahoma and north Texas.

At times, winds reached speeds of 60 mph in parts of Texoma - which was enough to knock down trees and powerlines in some places Wednesday afternoon and evening.

More than 1,000 people were without electricity in Ardmore. OG&E faced another problem in reparing the lines - more than half of their work crews were already in Dallas and Ft Worth working on downed lines from Tuesday's storms.
