Ada council rejects rezoning for county jail

ADA, Okla. (AP) -- The Ada City Council is rejecting a request to rezone land for a new Pontotoc County jail.

The council voted 3-to-2 against the plan to build the new jail on land near the Pontotoc County Agri-Plex.

County voters passed a sales tax earlier this year to pay for construction of a new jail.
