Killer Bees in Texoma

06-03-04 - A local bee expert says killer bees are already in Texoma. Wednesday afternoon, a Trenton man and his two dogs were attacked by the highly aggressive bees.

Charlie Dodson was stung 12 times; his dogs were stung numerous times. Just days earlier on Sunday, another bee attack resulted in the death of a 50 pound dog.

William Bradford, a local beekeeper, says this is just the beginning. Africanized bees are swarming north from Brazil and experts believe they will keep traveling until they reach temperatures they can no longer tolerate.

If you are attacked by the smaller and more aggressive bees, take shelter immediately.
