Remembering Reagan: Hall Recalls Humility

6-7-04 - The legacy of President Ronald Reagan is one that a local congressman knows well. Texas republican Ralph Hall knew Reagan for more than three decades, but most of that time, Hall was a democrat.

The District 4 Congressman says he remembers Reagan’s sense of humor but his humility as well. He spent time with the President at Camp David during his second term in office. On Monday, he said Reagan would be remembered for staring down the face of communism and encouraging Americans to believe in their country again.

Hall served in Congress for 23 years as a democrat but switched parties in 2004.

This Friday on First News, Hall will share his stories about the former president and their friendship.
