SHERMAN -- The Red Cross is still hard at work here in Sherman helping those in need. Now they're offering one month’s rent to families displaced by the flood.
Officials say that more than 150 families have filed for Red Cross assistance in Grayson County alone.
Most of them have lost everything they own.
Grayson County Red Cross executive director Sharon Watson says, "What we're doing today and the rest of the week is assisting people who are effected by the flooding, specifically, those who had to leave there homes or their apartments because they're unlivable."
The Red Cross has closed their Grayson County shelters, but a service center is open at Fairview Baptist Church from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and rent assistance is available at the main Red Cross office in Sherman.
