PONTOTOC COUNTY, Okla. -- A loaded 9-millimeter handgun was found in the cell of a suspected killer. Pontotoc County Undersheriff Joe Glover says the gun was found during an unannounced search at the county jail.

Glover said the inmate, Richard Goodman, arranged for Victoria Pipestem to climb the jail's roof and drop the pistol into a vent.

Then fellow inmate Notice Burns got the gun and took it to the cell.

Glover also says the vent was for a water heater, and it was never closed after the heater was replaced with an electric unit.

Glover says the vent is now closed with 20 inches of concrete.
