Store Employee Assaulted; Suspects at Large

06-8-04 – Police are searching for two people who may be behind a robbery and sexual assault in Durant. Authorities say a man and woman walked into a central Durant store at 3pm on Monday and pretended to shop. At one point, both walked out of the store, but came back.

According to police, the man tied up the store employee, took $200 from a lockbox, and then fondled her. The victim was treated and released from a local hospital. Police are not releasing the name of the store or its location in order to protect the victim's identity.

The suspects were last seen in a dark gold, late model Ford Mustang. The male suspect is described as a black man, 5 feet, 7 inches tall, weighing 160 pounds. He was wearing a light colored t-shirt and khaki pants. The other suspect is a white female who appeared pregnant. She is 5 feet, 4 inches tall and between the ages of 25 and 35. She has short brown hair and was last seen wearing a dark colored sun dress with small flowers.
