Big 12 Post Season Play Coming to OKC

06-08-04 - (Oklahoma City-AP) -- Oklahoma City will host the Big 12 men's and women's basketball tournaments in 2007. Big 12 commissioner Kevin Weiberg says the city will also play host to the conference's baseball tournament in 2006 and 2007.
It will be the first time for Oklahoma City to host the post-season basketball tournament. The tournament was played in Kansas City, Missouri, from 1997 through 2002 and in Dallas the past two years. It will be in Kansas City next year and in Dallas in 2006.
Oklahoma City hosted the Big 12 baseball tournament from 1997 to
2001 and again in 2003. Weiberg says the conference football championship games will be played in Houston in 2006 and in Kansas City in 2007.
