6-9-04 - A Sherman physician pled guilty in a Grayson County courtroom Wednesday to a felony count of obscenity – two months after he was charged with sex crimes against children.

Dr. Ronald Woods hoped to avoid a jail sentence, but a judge is weighing further evidence before handing down his sentence.

Investigators say Woods' videotaped three young girls at his home during the past year - one of them is his own daughter. The videotapes showed the girls dancing in the nude and using the restroom. Texas Rangers and the Secret Service were also involved in the investigation. Today their testimony revealed that images of nude young girls were found on Woods’ home computer. That evidence could cause the judge to hand down a sentence of up to two years in prison.

In court, Woods apologized to the girls’ families but his attorney described his client’s actions with the video camera as ‘silliness’ that simply went too far.
