Wednesday and Thursday are Weather Aware days due to the potential for locally heavy rainfall. Beware of flooded road-ways and never drive around barricades or into water more than six inches deep. High rainfall rates may reduce visibility and also increase the risk of hydroplaning. Turn around, don’t drown! Isolated strong thunderstorms may develop late Wednesday afternoon, but widespread severe weather does not appear to be likely at this time.
GAINESVILLE, Tex. – A disaster recovery center is now open in Gainesville for those affected by this summer’s floods.
FEMA representatives are available at the Gainesville Outlet Mall off Interstate 35.
They will be meeting with families in need of financial assistance.
Those registering must bring any insurance documentation you have.
The office will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. seven days a week until further notice.
