Waters rising at Little Mineral Marina

POTTSBORO, Tex. -- Power has been cut to dozens of homes threatened by the rising waters at Little Mineral Marina, and like many other marinas on the lake, water taxi's are ferrying people around.

Clarence Cole runs the maintenance shop around here and calls it, “something to see."

The water's gotten as high as it has in nearly twenty years. It’s a heartbreaking sight for a man who loves working on the lake.

"This is the first time I’ve seen the shop flood like this...probably won't save but a couple of inches of the roof... It makes us step it up…got to be on top of everything," said Cole.

Movers are getting people out of their homes because of all the damage, and the water continues to rise. It's not only bad news for the people who live here; it's hard for the people whose jobs depend on the weather.

Construction workers in the area won't even be able to go back to work for at least another few weeks.

So while they wait to make a living, they're spending their time fishing.

Jan Hall and Scott Callahan are just two people who live here during the summer. They're getting out now while the water is just waist high.
