06-16-04 - A well known Sherman doctor who pled guilty to an obscenity charge was sentenced this morning. Grayson County Judge Ray Grisham sentenced Dr. Ronald Woods to deferred adjudication and a $5,000 fine for an obscenity charge to which he plead guilty.

Woods entered a guilty plea last Wednesday to the obscenity charge. Investigators say Woods videotaped three young girls at his home dancing in the nude and using the restroom.

Images of nude girls were also found on a computer at Woods' home. The Judge also ordered that Woods can no longer be around children under the age of 17, but did not say if that applied to his medical practice.

That decision will be determined later today. Since his arrest in April, Dr. Woods has continued to practice medicine.
