Swift Revenge for American Beheading

6-19-04- The al-Qaida cell in Saudi Arabia confirms that its leader and three other militants were killed in a shootout with Saudi forces in the Saudi capital of Riyadh Friday night.

The cell also vows to continue its holy war. The group has claimed responsibility for a number of recent attacks targeting Westerners, including the kidnapping and beheading of Paul Johnson Junior.

In a statement posted on an Islamic Web site, the group praised its leader, Abdulaziz al-Moqrin. It says others will "carry on his mission and replace him in his jihad."

The gunfight with the militants in a neighborhood of the Saudi capital, Riyadh, occurred soon after the group posted photos of the decapitated American online.
