Water creeping closer to Highway 91

Spillway latest

The Army Corps of Engineers says they think the Lake Texoma spillway will crest this Saturday at around three o'clock, probably around 640.77 feet.

Of course, that could change depending on the amount of rain before now and then.

Highway 91 update

On Highway 91, the road taken to reach the Denison Dam, five tin horns, which are round tunnels there under the highway, are twelve feet in diameter and allow the spillway overflow to pass under 91.

Right now there's only around a foot left to go before the water reaches the top of those tin horns.

Once they do, Highway 91 will be shut down.

For now the highway is still open and operating normally.

We'll keep you posted on the water level.

Please put the streaming video of spillway back up so that I can keep up with it. Also, can you post lake level each morn. Lake levels available under forecast at kxii.com/weather.

All you have to do is call your County Commissioner and he can tell you if it is a Private Road or not, since he is responsible for the road maintenance. If it is private, please respect their privacy. If it is a puplic roadway, then your Tax Dollars pay for it and you are entitled to use it.

I have been hearing about the problem people are having in the Thousand Oaks area. Unfortunately for the people who drive down the road peacefully to get to their homes have to suffer for the STUPID people who drive unsafe and do not have any respect for the people in the Thousand Oaks area. If the people were just driving through I do not believe the residents of the area would not object. I know several people who live there and they do not have a mean bone in their body but threaten their families and see if you would not do the same. Nature has caused many tough situations in the entire area so blaming others for your misfortune is not the answer. Maybe if you got on your knees the answers will come.

The land owner put a fence up on a private property. This was to be a gated community when the homeowners bought their property. The people that are entering our neighborhood are disrespectful to others. They tried to run over a person because they did not want to slow down. They throw their beer cans and other trash all over the roads. Sure we are upset about the traffic that comes into our addition. When before the flooding there were about 25 cars that traveled Thousand Oaks Dr a day now we have hundreds a day. They are destroying the roads which they don't pay for. They are shouting obsenity. There are children in this neighborhood who we want to protect from being killed by these dangerous drivers! If those who travel into our neighborhood would take care of their own property and clean up their trash they might understand why we are so upset. If anyone has ever traveled down the road north of Thousand Oaks Dr you will see what I am talking about. It is unbelieveable of all the trash in the yards!!

The county maintains that road does it not? Yes....The county sheriff can write speeding tickets on your road, right?...Yes Then it's NOT a private road. Then PLEASE PLEASE let's work together out here and STOP these people doing this instead of blocking the road for the rest of us out here. WE are threatened every weekend by these same people, WE pick up their trash every dayople, it is not safe for OUR children or grandchildren to play here but we can't seem to get anything done about it. WE also care about keeping our community clean and safe!!!!! And this makes us have to drive HOW FAR?? to get around the water? Because THEY don't like it? HELP US CLEAN IT UP!! PLEASE!!! CALL AND REPORT THE PEOPLE! Call EVERY TIME and maybe, just maybe those of us out here in the far end of Bryan county can finally get the peace we ALL deserve.

Pretty please put dates on this stuff! I can't really tell which Friday or Saturday this is referring to. In the video navigator in the upper right corner, there's a spillway vid that says "Friday", but was that today 071307 or what?

Thousand Oaks DR is a private road. The homeowners are only tying to protect their investment. We went from a quite neighborhood to one that has hundreds of cars and trucks speeding down the road throwing out their trash and yelling at the residents. The people on Thousand Oaks Dr have been threatened. It is not safe for their grandchildren to come and visit. They have talked to the sheriff, highway patrol and county commissioner about the situtation. The people on Thousand Oaks are not picking on anyone. They just care about keeping their community clean and safe!!!!
