PLANO -- A former Howe firefighter turned Plano police officer killed in the line of duty was laid to rest Thursday.

Funeral services for Dayle Weston Hardy were held in Plano on Thursday morning.

Hardy was a fire captain for the city of Howe until he moved to Plano last month and became a motorcycle officer for the Plano Police Department.

Officials say Hardy was killed when his motorcycle collided with a car in a pursuit last weekend.

Hardy leaves behind a wife and two twin girls.

He was just 31 years old.
