POTTSBORO, Tex. -- The city of Pottsboro may be expanding it's city limits.

City Officials meet Tuesday to decide whether or not to annex land west of Hardenburg Lane.

The land runs between 996 and FM120. The new Highway 289 will run right through that tract, from Grayson County Airport to FM 120.

The city hopes once the highway is completed it will attract new development to Pottsboro.

An ordinance has already been put in place that if annexed, sewer and water services on the land will be purchased by the city of Pottsboro.

They need to check their city charter and the state law regarding annexation. I don't think city less than 5000 population can involuntarily annex anything.

After attending many city and school meetings, Pottsboro cannot handle the current population let alone to take on more responsibility.
