Memorial For State Trooper

06-29-04 - (Lawton-AP) The Oklahoma Highway Patrol will honor a peace officer murdered in the line of duty. State Highway 70 between Waurika and Davidson in southwestern Oklahoma becomes the Trooper Nik Green Memorial Highway Tuesday afternoon.

The highway patrol says the dedication is in honor of Green's dedication and service to the public and to law enforcement.

The dedication will take place at the Oklahoma Highway Patrol headquarters of Troop G in Lawton.

Green was shot and killed December 26th on a rural Cotton County road. He was investigating a suspicious vehicle. Ricky Ray Malone has been charged with Green's murder.
