Sherman accident sends 2 to hospital

A serious two-car accident in Sherman sends two people to the hospital. It happened Saturday afternoon just after two o'clock at the intersection of Grand Avenue and Lamar Street.

Sherman Police say a black Nissan was headed south on Grand Avenue when it failed to stop and yield to traffic on Lamar Street. A white pickup heading east on Lamar slammed into the Nissan shoving it against a light pole in the middle of the intersection.

The driver and passenger of the Nissan were flown to Parkland Hospital, their injuries are unknown at this time. The driver of the white pickup was not injured.

I am so glad to hear they will be ok. Since I live at the intersection where this happened I do see a lot of wrecks. I will have to say that this is one of the worst ones I have seen here. I guess no matter how long I live here (5 years so far) I will never get used to it. I just can't understand why TexDOT won't do anything about the intersection. I guess they just don't care. Thanks for sharing your information. I know I will rest easier knowing they will be ok.

Tey are both fine... the problems with the man are a broken 2nd vertabre and a fractured wrist.. but hes doing rlly good, i saw them both today. The women is in better condition, her injuries were a cut on her liver but their not to worried about it because livers are really good about regenerating, she also has some stiches on her forhead, shes also a little scratched up, but they were talking and laughing today and yesterday. So they going to be fine. Its nice to see my friends are going to be okay. Also they got transfered from SICU to regular rooms, last night

I don't understand the last paragraph about a hazard waste event and how it relates to the accident?

The wreck happened right in front of my house and I saw the girl when they pulled her out of the car. I am also very concerned about them both and I was hoping that the news would give an update on their condition but they didn't. They have both been in my prayers. Any information on their condition would be great.
