7-03-04- A man was run over and killed on the job in Love County Saturday afternoon. Authorities say the man was working on an oil lease about 11 miles west of Marietta when a co-worker accidentally ran over him with a tractor.
It happened just after two this afternoon and emergency responders say 52 year old Larry Elder of Wilson, OK was killed instantly. He died of head and internal injuries.
Authorities say both men are employees of TEPPCO. The victim was opening a gate to the oil lease for the driver of the tractor, Michael Walker of Ardmore, when he was accidentally run over.
The incident is still under investigation, but authorities believe it was an accident.
