Rainy Month Delays Intersection Construction

7-6-04 - A closed intersection in Sherman probably won’t reopen as soon as first thought. Crews have been redoing the Loy Lake Road and Peyton Street intersection since June 1st, but rain has delayed the work several times.

The project was slated to wrap up by July 15th – leaving the intersection resurfaced and removing severe dips in the road. City officials decided to totally close the area to speed the construction process, but the rain has changed those plans.

Today, Public Works director Jeff Miller said the deadline could still be met, but regardless, closing the intersection was the best move all around.
