Weather Aware conditions continue overnight due to the potential for locally heavy rainfall. A Flash Flood Watch is in effect until 7 a.m. for the northernmost portions of Texoma including Atoka, Coal, Johnston, Murray and Pontotoc Counties Beware of flooded road-ways and never drive around barricades or into water more than six inches deep. High rainfall rates may reduce visibility and also increase the risk of hydroplaning. Turn around, don’t drown! Rain ends NW to SE during the day Thursday.
7-8-04 - An Ardmore church and several homes fell victim to thieves this week, who vandalized and destroyed property in their search for valuables.
It happened in the northwest part of the city over several hours on Tuesday. Thieves broke into the Spanish First Baptist Church on K Street Northwest during the evening. They stole all the music and speaker equipment, and destroyed an air conditioner and windows.
Four homes in Wildewood Red Oak housing addition were also burglarized. Police say $6,000 worth of items were stolen from all the locations.
Police aren’t sure if all the burglaries are connected, but the circumstances are similar.
