New Weapon for Sherman Police

7-15-04 - Sherman police have a new attention-getter for bad guys. It looks like a paintball gun, but this pepperball gun has a much different affect. The balls explode on impact - having the same debilitating affect as pepper spray.

The gun uses compressed air to fire off up 180 continuous rounds. Sherman officers hope the gun will reduce injuries to suspects and make their job easier.

Officers are training to use the new gun right now but hope to add more in the future.
