7-22-04 - Two Sherman city workers were partially buried when a trench caved in on Thursday. They were repairing a sewage line along West Brockett Street when a backhoe triggered the wall collapse around 4pm, dumping gravel and debris on top of the two men.

A quick response by coworkers and firefighters saved both men – pulling them out of the trench within 15 minutes. The two workers escaped with only minor injuries, and the crew resumed working on the damaged line.
