7-23-04 - A Texoma man chose a unique way to celebrate his 93rd birthday on Friday – skydiving. Ottis Murdock says its something he always wanted to do – something he says is his tribute to today’s men and women fighting for our country.

His leap of faith took him to Skydive Dallas in Whitewright. After a 45-minute training session, Murdcock boarded the plane. At a height of 13,500 feet, his freefall began, strapped to a professional skydiver. Falling at a rate of 1,000 feet per second, he says it was quite a ride.

For his 94th birthday, Murdock says he wants to do it all over again.
