Stop Signs Helping Local Intersection

7-30-04 - A dangerous intersection in Sherman has the attention of city leaders.

Linda Lane and Valentine Street in the southeast part of town has bee the scene of several accidents. Neighbors say drivers would fail to stop or yield to on-coming traffic - so for now, the city is has placed two temporary stop signs, hoping to alleviate the problem.

And neighbors say the signs are working - there hasn't been a wreck since the signs went up.

On Monday the city council will hold a public hearing where they will decide whether to keep the signs up.
