8-4-04 - A local city will keep their emergency medical service funding from Grayson County for the time being. During a budget-planning meeting Wednesday, County Judge Tim McGraw suggested that the city receives more than its fair share of county money and he wants VA to voluntarily give some of it back.
But the commissioners decided to leave funds alone until the three-year contract is up in 2005.
That’s good news, considering VA’s EMS service is $112,000 in the hole. The service began less than two years ago. Ambulance budgets for surrounding communities will be discussed on Monday, with decisions for Preston, Whitesboro and Whitewright.
