"Less tears, more years"

POTTSBORO -- Pottsboro parents, teens, and police are banding together to prevent fatal car accidents. They've formed a group, "Less tears more years.”

At Thursday night’s community meeting, they brainstormed ways to keep the roads safe for inexperienced drivers. Members say they hope volunteers come forward to mow grass at dangerous intersections. They also plan to hold assemblies in schools, and ask for legislation statewide for tougher driver's education programs.

"Our goal as the less tears more years campaign is to save lives of our teenagers,” said Brett Arterburn, Pottsboro police chief. “What I say to them is every independent group can't fix every problem but if we unite as one group we can get more accomplished."
