Power Outage Costs Cardinal Glass $50k

8-5-04 - The largest single investment in Durant's history was out of operation for the second time this week. Cardinal Glass experienced a power outage early Thursday morning that triggered a four-hour shutdown that cost over $50,000 in lost production. Cardinal's electric provider says an equipment malfunction at the power plant and at Cardinal Glass is to blame for the outage and one on Sunday.

Employees say the generators kicked in but not before four hours of production were lost. Power crews say new equipment will be brought in on Monday.
