DENTON, Texas (AP) - A Denton woman today was charged with
endangering a child after an infant she was watching crawled onto
hot pavement. The year-old girl suffered first-degree burns.
Angela Moore, 33, surrendered today and was held on $10,000 bond.
Denton police say Moore was watching eight children Monday when
the baby crawled out a back door propped open with an extension
cord.
The girl ended up nearly a quarter-mile from the house. James Lussier was working in his garage when he heard a baby crying -- and he found the girl.
Lussier told the Dallas Morning News that the baby's knees and legs were scratched and blistered from the hot pavement.
Firefighters measured the temperature of the pavement at 127
degrees.
The baby is now out of a hospital and is back with her mother.
