GRAYSON COUNTY, Tex. – Grayson County officials are working toward finalizing next year’s budget.
Officials have been meeting with county leaders over the past week to discuss funding needed. They will meet with the sheriff's department on Monday afternoon and then begin crunching numbers to cut back in certain areas.
County Judge Drue Bynum says they are looking at ways to meet demands with out having to raise taxes.
"My goal, by the end of next Tuesday, we'll have an edited version but he can take those numbers and plug them, and we can get the tax rate set and start leaning toward adopting that budget," Bynum said.
Officials say the final budget will be completed and turned in by October 1st.
