Changes at Mercy Memorial in Ardmore

ARDMORE, Okla. -- Expansion is underway at the new Mercy Memorial Health Center. Starting Wednesday, the way patients get to the hospital will change.

Starting on Wednesday, hospital visitors will not be able to use 14th North West as a through street, but planners say not to worry, and that it’s all part of the progress.

Workers started construction on the new parking lot at Mercy Memorial.

While that improvement continues, drivers will no longer be able to drive from Meadow Lane to the main hospital entrance.

Hospital officials say it is to help move parking so they can start on the new patient towers that will be built in the old parking lot.

They say construction is getting back on schedule after all the rain and will be back on track soon.

Parking will be tight until the parking project is completed, but mercy says residents will start seeing improvement soon.

"Until we open parking, it will be tight, but hopefully by April we will have the same amount as now, just in a different location," said Mercy Memorial vice president Jay Johnson.

There are several projects going on from 12th Avenue to 15th, and hospital officials can’t wait for citizens to start seeing their dream unfold in Ardmore.
